Listen, commander! To spacewalk your way towards an empire, you'll have to keep track of  a whole bunch of things. First of, watch out for your harvesters. Create safe paths for them, so they don't run into some alien robot's arms. Oh, and you better avoid those explosive barrels, too. Or don't and use them to set up a trap. Anyways, in case things get hairy, you can send your rangers out as backup. Even in the heat of battle though, never lose sight of your goal. Find suitable locations for new colonies and send your astronaut teams out to set them up. Good luck, commander!

Features:

  • Unique mix of turn-based & real-time strategy! Think on your feet and time your moves, but don't fiddle with unit micro-management.
  • Random generation! Face a new level layout each match. Enemies spawn in random locations. You'll never face the same challenge twice.
  • Single-player ladder! The level of challenge will adjust to how well you're doing. What rank can you reach?
  • Exploding barrels! Because every good video game needs them. Also, screen shake.

Fabian Fischer created the game to explore the idea of a "slow RTS". By pairing multiple simultaneous real-time behaviors with a discrete grid- and tick-based action space, the gameplay harnesses strengths from turn-based as well as real-time strategy, aiming to bring together the "best of both worlds".

I really liked this game! I think the realtime / turn-based hybrid is an interesting mix. Creating bases with astronauts was a cool mechanic as well. Definitely enjoyable!
